31st August, 2001: Chairman GM3VBT

Alasdair GM3AXX updated the club on our plans for a visit to a Scottish Power wind farm in October. It looks like the visit will only be possible during the daytime. Currently he is enquiring about all the Health and Safety procedures and forms necessary for the visit.

Competition: Jack GM4COX demonstrated his ideas for a competition centered on each member working as many countries as possible between 1 Oct 2001 and 1 Oct 2002. Members suggested working as many countries as possible in preference to prefixes to simplify the rules of the competition. Jack, together with Ross GM7WED will be finalising the rules of the competition in order for it to be ready to start on the 1st October. The prize at the end of the year is to be the former Technical trophy. As it is named the Alex McGill trophy, this is to be the Alex McGill competition. As details are finalised, they will be published in the fun section.

Sponsored recital: John GM0KTO is doing a sponsored organ recital to raise money for the restoration of a Glasgow organ. More details here.
