The McGill
Trophy Competition is an annual internal club competition whose aim is
to stimulate operation on all amateur bands using all modes available
to the UK amateur. It is open to all current WOSARS members.
The objective
is to accumulate the most number of ARRL listed countries within a period
of one-year commencing the 1st October of each year.
Operation
can take place from any location within the UK, but only contacts using
your own callsign which are entered into your log will be acceptable.
Operation from the ClubÕs station GM/S4AGG must be identified on your
log as this will count for a separate award explained later.
An on-going
tally will be keep by the competition adjudicator, which will normally
be updated on a Club meeting night. The updated information will be added
to the Club's web-site where a duplicate table is kept.
From time-to-time
a request will be made for entrants to provide evidence of contacts. This
will normally be a request to bring along your logbook to a Friday night
meeting for inspection.
In the case
of Class B's Full & Intermediate (Novice B), operation is acceptable from
any Class A's as long as the contact is logged in your own logbook as
well as the hosts log.
Contest
operation away from your own QTH is acceptable as long as the contacts
which you have made, in the case of a multi-operator contest, is logged
in your own log.
In order
to stimulate activity from the Club's station GM/S4AGG a separate trophy
will be awarded to the member who has had the most number of contacts
from this station. This should be attractive to Class B's who do not have
HF capability. Also to those members who do not have a station at present
for on reason or other. Contacts should be made under the callsign GM/S4AGG
and entered into the AGG log but the operator must list their own callsign
alongside the entry. The log will be scrutinised from time-to-time to
verify contacts.
Two trophies
will be awarded at a suitable Club function (normally the Christmas Social
in December). They consist of:
Top
Club Operator - Year XX
Top GM4AGG Operator - Year XX
McGill Trophy
- Sept 2001 GM4COX
