I have
been working on the air since 1982. My father was my first teacher,
he then used old call-sign: RF6QAH. My first club station was UK6QAA,
located in the small town of Batumi (West part of Georgia).
In 1983
I got my first license - RF6QAI. The 160 m band was my favorite band.
During the first two years on the air I made contacts with more then
100 DXCC countries exclusively on top band
I remember
my first QSO with the USA: it was W100. The first time I could't understand
this call-sign, becouse it looks like W One Hundred, Hi. Of course,
it was CW QSO. Then I worked with ZL3GQ, VK6HD, VE1ZZ, etc.
I used
an old home made transceiver UW3DI and a Long Wire antenna.
