The meeting commenced at 08.25 with Ross GM7WED in the chair. There were 16 people present. Ross then gave an account of the funeral service of Alasdair Fraser GM3AXX which took place this morning at John Knox Church in Stewarton at 11.00am. A brief history detailing the many contributions Alasdair has made to Amateur Radio and to the WoSARS.
An update to Stan’s stay in hospital was given by Ross who visited him yesterday along with Campbell. Stan continues to improve and hopes to be home next Wednesday. He is also looking forward to returning to the club and his quiz.
Fred 2M0BIN recently spoke to Len Paget GM0ONX Region 1 RSGB rep about a list of talks he would be prepared to give to the club. From the list the members opted for HF antennas for small gardens. Len also sent some information relating to a proposed special events station to celebrate the forthcoming Olympic games. He is looking for local amateurs to be involved. This is to be discussed in the next committee meeting, Tuesday 21st.
Ross then updated the members of the situation last week when the intermediate exam papers didn’t arrive. The RSGB has let us down for the second time.
Alan GM4TOQ spoke about next month’s IOTA and the current state of the carahome including a potential replacement. Pat brought up the news that some members are not receiving club’s emails. This is to be looked into. During the break a raffle was held.
After the break Ross spoke about electrical issue with cards and also about refurbing electronic key fobs. The meeting concluded at 10.10pm.

The meeting commenced at 08.10pm with Ross GM7WED in the chair. 18 people were present. Ross then read out some news items which included:-
Proposed early summer barbecue at Alan’s QTH on Saturday 2nd July.
A barbecue with an amateur radio direction finding event to be held in August. Details to be announced.
RSGB intermediate exam paper didn’t turn up for tonight’s exam. The 2 candidates were Jim & Dave. The application had been recorded delivery.
Sam GM4BGS had been at hospital to see Stan GM8MRW and gave an update on Stan’s condition which appears to be improving albeit slowly.
Last weekend’s NFD with Terry GM3WUX achieved over 1,000 contacts despite the weather being blowy and chilly overnight. John MM1EJK gave a quick resume of the Auchengillan scout weekend held recently.
Ross spoke about his recent visit with Sam GM4BGS to the Red Rose QRP Rally at Atherton Manchester last weekend.
An update to the Club’s insurance policy schedule was received by Alan GM4TOQ from Bluefin Insurance. This was handed to the Secretary Sam GM4BGS to be kept with the rest of the insurance documentation.
After the break Ross gave a slide show of a Fun Run which took place on the new M74 motorway link before it opens. This was followed by 2 short videos on how to make valves.
The meeting concluded at 10.00pm.

The meeting commenced at 08.00pm with Ross GM7WED in the chair. Ross read out the following news items: NFD update, starts 16.00 local time Sat 4th June 2011 until Sun 5th June 16.00 at Alan’s GM4TOQ new field site with Terry GM3WUX and Doug EM0ELP operating. They are also looking for assistance in setting up the station and helping out.
Stan GM8MRW is still in hospital and has been visited by a number of club members, Ross GM7WED, Eric GM4BOA, Fred 2M0BIN and Sam GM4BGS. Stan had hoped to be home this weekend but due to an infection he will not get out for another week all going well.
It was announced that a committee meeting took place at the Electron Club on Thursday 2/6/11. The points discussed were, the summer barbecue, proposed barbeque/direction finding event at Mugdock Country Park, aerial at Rose St, club website revue and received suggestions from Ernie GM0EZP and Jim GM0UIN.
After the break the following videos were shown, Space Station crew uses Ham Radio to call Earth, Deltic locomotive back in service and World War II code cracking computer rebuilt at Bletchley.
It was announced at the end of the meeting that four Foundation candidates sat and passed the exam tonight, Michael, Russell, Charlotte and Stuart. Examiners were Jim Beeley GM0UIN and John Connelly 2M0SIL.
The meeting concluded at 10.00pm. There were 19 in attendance.

The meeting commenced at 8.15pm with Ross GM7WED in the chair. There were 13 people present, the low turnout most likely due to the bank holiday weekend. There were no minutes of the previous meeting to be read and approved due to this being the first week of the trail revised meeting format.
Ross made his apologies for missing last week’s meeting due to being under the wx because of illness.
Information on Stan GM8MRW’s stay in hospital was given.
It was announced that Gordon MM0YEQ was setting up a station at the scout camp at Auchengillan over the weekend and is looking for additional operators/helpers. There is only one contest listed this weekend, CW WPX (worked all prefixes), which should be good practice for next weekend’s NFD.
Terry GM3WUX is putting on a station for NFD at the club shack.
There are no rallies this weekend.
The annual visit to the Museum of Communications in Burntisland was discussed and a date is still to be agreed.
The club’s insurance policy has been renewed.
After the interval Sam GM4BGS gave an introduction to a recent House of Commons debate on PLT (Power Line Technology) with Mark Lancaster M.P. and Mark Prisk minister for Information and Technology. A small discussion afterwards detailed the issues facing Radio Amateurs from this technology and its tendency to cause radio interference.
The meeting ended promptly at 10.00pm.
