At 7.30 before each meeting, there is the opportunity to learn or brush up on morse code skills. There is a library of morse practice cassettes available, along with a cassette player and morse oscillator. As this facility has been undersubscribed recently the equipment is not always set up each week but can be done so on request.

It is necessary to pass a 12wpm morse test before being able to obtain a Class A licence, which allows amateur transmissions on the short wave bands.
